My favorite quick dinner – tacos

Things have been busy (and, in all seriousness, when are they not busy?). Work, social commitments, more work and trying to keep on top of the laundry pile take up 90% of my time.

My summer’s to do list

I say this every year but it is crazy how quickly time flies! I remember setting my New Year resolutions and we are now almost halfway into 2015. Summer is by far my favorite time of the year – I think London, while beautiful in the usual gloomy weather, really wakes up during the summer months. Watching the River Thames catch the first rays of the summer’s morning sun and glimmer with golden light is one of the most stunning sights I have seen to date.
Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good list and this year I decided to write down all the things I want to do this summer and slowly tick them off. I am a big believer that, if I write things down, I am much more likely to accomplish them (a topic for a different blog post, perhaps) and this year, I am determined not to let my full time (and a half) job from making some wonderful summer memories.

Casual consumerism.

I had an epiphany today browsing the isles of TK Maxx. And it’s a big one.
A couple was (I can only presume) buying some accents for their home and they were on a lookout for a vase. To be honest, the vase selection was iffy to say the least (they looked like something my grandmother had in the 1980s in Lithuania). Anyhow, I overheard the conversation the couple was having and it was essentially along the lines of ‘Well we need a vase, so let’s just pick one from here and be done with it’.

Soho Saturdays

So this morning I woke up dying to see some animals. The weather in London is still rubbish so London Zoo was out of question and it would have been a five hour of wait for the aquarium (damn you Bank Holiday weekend!) so we ended up going to Soho instead. Not to see animals, obviously, just grab some lunch and dessert.

5 out 1 in – Ripe Peach by Mac

So there was a bit of a blog hiatus this week as I struggled to combine my day work and blogging but I expect that the posts will go back to normal in the coming weeks.
Anyhow, I am very excited about this post as it’s a first in my ‘5 out 1 in’ series. If you didn’t read my introductory post, the idea is that in the coming months, I am trying to use up as many products as possible (to declutter my already cluttered teeny home).
I have been working my way through a number of products over the last couple of weeks and wanted to share the first ‘victims’.

Fur all year round.

Faux, to be precise. But yes, unfortunately it is still cold enough in London to wear one of my favorite jackets. I wore this outfit to a date in Brixton on Sunday. It had a nice casual vibe (teamed with my obscenely loud New Balances) and I really enjoyed wearing it. I do think the fur jacket pulled the outfit together and added extra oompf. What do you think?
